ABOUT

Hello!
I'm Erika!
I'm a multi-media journalist trained in news reporting, news writing, anchoring, editing, and videography, as well as social media/digital reporting.
Born and raised in southern Ontario, I moved to Whitecourt, Alberta in October 2017 for my first job in the news industry. In Whitecourt, I worked as the news director and morning news reporter and anchor for local radio station, XM 105 FM until May 2021, when I left to move back to Ontario with my spouse to be closer to our families.
I now call Sudbury, Ontario home.
Since July 2021, I have been working for Toronto's CityNews 680 (formerly 680 NEWS) as a part-time digital editor, reporter, editor, and news anchor.
I am a 2017 graduate of the Broadcast Journalism Television News Program from Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. I also hold a BA from Brock University, majoring in Geography (2015).
Writing news stories is my passion. I love covering events and local content and bringing important issues to the forefront for residents to know about.
In addition to writing, filming, and voicing the news, I also enjoy hosting local community events and interacting with community members.
In my spare time I enjoy getting outdoors going canoeing, hiking, fishing, or skiing, and discovering new places. I hope to travel the world one day!
